Breaking that cycle..

How do you do it? Like seriously, how?? Throughout the past couple years my body has endured a LOT of trials. And as a result I’ve joined the millions of women on a quest to lose weight. I’ve tried a variety of regimes and I feel that Slimming World is the best path I’ve found. It’s very accessible and fun. The environment is supportive as long as you take advantage of it. No food is really banned, but things need to be in moderation which is very sensible and healthy. But even with all these positives, I’m still going round in a circle.

The most I had lost was 13lbs, nearly a stone. Which is a massive achievement for me. But as soon as I have a good weigh in result, I’m then not as determined for the following week. I then am not as commited to exercise and counting my ‘syns’. I seem to be always around the 9lb loss mark and never really get away from it for long. Don’t get me wrong, even 9lb is an achievement. But when you know you’ve got 6-7 stone to lose for a healthy BMI, it feels like I haven’t even scratched the surface.

It’s all about MINDSET. I think acknowledging that you are going to have to work hard for a long time on yourself is a start. Accepting that you have a lot work cut out for you and that it won’t be easy. It’s going to mean you can’t always eat whatever your friends and family are eating. It’s going to mean that you will have to get up even earlier to fit a workout in. And also that there will be slip ups along the road but you have to keep going.

I don’t really have all the answers to breaking this cycle but I  keep searching so I can turn the corner fully. I’ve just bought a motivation dress that I want to wear to an event in September. Hopefully this will spur me on.

If you’ve got any tips, comment below.
